Testing the mail sending process from the server
Table of Contents
If you want the program to send your messages automatically after receiving
them from the e-mail client, select the "Immediately"
sending option in the "Settings" window. Otherwise, in order to send of
your messages, you need to click the "Start" button on the main toolbar:

If no messages are available in the main window, you should either create
it from PostCast Server by choosing the "New
Message" option or send it from your e-mail program (see Testing
the connection between e-mail program and the server).
When the message is successfully sent, it is deleted from the Outbox
folder. The Professional
Edition of the program moves the sent message to the Sent Items folder.
If you enter your e-mail address in the "TO" field of the message, you
can use your e-mail program to download the message. If PostCast Server
is unable to send a message, it is, in most cases, due to the incorrect
DNS server address. In order to enter the address in PostCast Server,
click on the "Settings" button on the main toolbar:

The DNS server is used by the program to find correct addresses of different
servers on the Internet. For instance, the DNS server turns "postcastserver.com"
into 207.228.235.166, which is the IP address of "postcastserver.com".
To find out which DNS server address to enter, you should consult the
documentation and instructions on connecting to the Internet that you
have received from your ISP. If you do not have the documentation, you
should be able to find DNS server addresses on your ISP"s web site.
While connected to the Internet, you can click on the "Detect" button
next to the "Use default server" option and the program will automatically
enter the value of the currently active DNS server. Select the "Show network
configuration" option from the "Tools" menu and the program will, apart
from the DNS server address, display your local and Internet IP address
as well. |
